Abstract
A supply chain is a system made up of several participants who interact with each other and through these, companies are supplied with inputs and raw materials necessary to meet production standards, demands and requirements of their customers; An important aspect about supply chains is the way they are intertwined, how they work in a coordinated way, taking into account external aspects that could cause negative distortions and affect its performance. The overall objective of this research to determine the impact of the supply chain on organizational performance. The methodology used uses documentary and bibliographic research. The results were based on the analysis of the supply chain, its phases, its functions and activities, the existing risks in the supply chains, performance, as well as the implementation of optimization systems. As a conclusion, it is important to highlight that a supply chain is a fundamental part of a company since its performance and optimal functioning depend on it, the success of the company is closely linked, with the proper functioning of the supply chain, since without planning without the necessary raw material, which is delivered in a timely manner by the suppliers, without the machinery that can transform that raw material into a final product and without an appropriate, expeditious and competent distribution system that can deliver the final product to Consumers, it is notable that said company may not fully fulfill its functions, causing an unpromising future in its organizational performance.
